Wacammaw
The huge outlet shopping center at Wacammaw continues to attract new shops. Recent additions include the Bible Factory Outlet, Black and Decker tools and appliances, Adidas shoes and clothing, J.H. Collectibles clothing, and Fossil watches. Belk, the large department store chain, has opened a 36,000 square foot outlet shop with clothing, shoes, and lines at 25 to 50 percent off. Malls 1 and 2 have been renovated and expanded, and a new shopping area is being developed. Named Outlet Park Village, this center will have 35 stores around a lake, and will not be an enclosed mall.
Other Shopping News
In other shopping news along the strand, a 25,000 square foot Barnes and Noble superstore opened last fall in the Seaboard Commons shopping center next to Broadway at the Beach. This colossal bookstore carries 100,000 books, plus CD's, computer software, magazines, and newspapers, and has a cafe featuring excellent Starbucks coffee and other drinks and snacks. There are even tables and chairs in the store, in case you want to do a little in-store reading. Barnes and Noble is open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
